Something for the Weekend

Donegal mix master Colpey Calling selects his new Track of the Week, as well as the Best Track You’ve Never Heard.

Track of the Week

FIS – “Speech Spirits (Kassem Mosse’d)” (2014)

First of all, if you haven’t heard Aphex Twin released a new album this week…get your head out of the sand. Listen to it, it’s great. But since its been literally everywhere this week, I have picked an alternative tune! And it comes in the form of this 5.22 minute slow jam. Kassem Mosse transforms the original electronic industrial track into a beautiful synth laden funky house jam! Released this week on a new label called Loopy. Dive in and look out for Loopy releases in the future!

Best Track You’ve Never Heard

Black Rock – “The New York City Bump” (1975)

I love public transport and I love Funk! This track has it all! It’s an atmospheric funk/soul bomb! A great six and half minute track! 1975!
