OTHER TIPS

Polar Bear @ The Lantern // Thurs  23rd Apr (8pm) // Cost: £14

Polar Bear by Jacek Zmarz 11

Our love for all things Polar Bear is now well documented (2014 reviews/2015 reviews) and frankly is becoming somewhat disturbing… even to us!! That said new album Same as You is a tour-de-force and Bear are simply too good to ignore.

So get your selves down to the Lantern and see why our infatuation is bordering on obsession.

Check back as well for our review on Thursday.

Bedminster will host Bristol’s biggest comedy show this month when ‘Comedians on the Run’ takes place on April 22.

Restaurants, cafes and pubs will echo with laughter as 30 comedians, moving between venues, battle it out to play 15 selected venues between 7-9pm. Each session will last just 5-10 minutes, with the most popular act of the night winning a £250 cash prize and one public voter walking away with £100.

Organised by the Bedminster Town Team, Sadie Fleming and Mark Venus Music, the diverse collection of comedians means there will be something for everyone, ranging from the likes of Col Howarth, Craig Leggo, Fitz, Joey Cannon, Sandi Smith and Tom Lucy.

So expect to cry with laughter in various locations all over BS3 with the Rope Walk, Cafe Grounded, Windmill Hill City Farm, Coffee Lounge, The Assembly, Viva La Mexicana, The Steam Crane, Margot May, The Old Bookshop, The Spotted Cow, The Hen & Chicken, Barber Browns, Lounge, The Tobacco Factory and El Rincon all hosting comedians throughout the event.
