Dan Shake – ‘Out of Sight’ (2015)
Once again Dan Shake proves why he is the first non-Detroit-based artist to release tracks on legend Moodymann’s label Mahogani Music. Dan’s recent single ‘Out of Sight’ is fantastic Detroit house track, with subdued highs, a shuffling funky bass and live drum breaks that will get any dance floor rocking. Released on 2 February – I recommend a pre-order on this one!

E.S.G. – ‘Bam Bam Jam’
This is 1980s New York post-punk funk – E.S.G. were dubbed “one of the most dynamic bands that New York could offer at the top of the ’80s.” This is one of my favourite tracks, along with ‘Dance’.
