Back in April, Red Bull Music Academy brought a feast of musical delights to Bristol. From Gilles Peterson and Lonnie Liston Smith at the Planetarium to Goat at Circomedia, the long Easter weekend featured a never-ending line-up of incredible performances. To round off the Bristol leg of the RBMA tour, Chilean-born producer and DJ Shanti Celeste put together a beautiful mix at Idle Hands.

Celeste is at the core of Bristol’s revered house music circuit. Spinning records since the tender age of 17, Shanti became a fixture at Bristol’s top spot for digging records, Idle Hands, both behind and in front of the counter. Together with Idle Hands’ owner Chris Farell she runs the BRSTL record label, offering a platform for bourgeoning talent from their hometown and beyond. Shanti’s own productions on BRSTL and Julio Bashmore’s Broadwalk label run the gamut of contemporary club sounds, from lofty house vibes to the mechanical funk of electro and techno.
